Hello to all
It’s been exciting to be involved in lesbian activities and events again. Time is of an essence as we all can relate and the beginning of the year is just as busy a time as any time of the year so just a quick mail out to let you all know about what’s going on for this month.
REAL “news” and a calendar promoting events and activities up till June will follow shortly after this hasty mail out.
I hope you all can come along to one event or activity on the calendar this month and support our lesbian community unity.
“Lesbian Community goings on”
“Inner Talk Out” is a group who talk about what ever life moments you’d like to share about following your own life journey, past and present. We get together and support and respect each others opinions, we all have something to tell and/or share in the meaning of life. Natural and naturally planned places of beauty have been chosen to share in “Inner Talk Out”. In the event of much needed rain we can opt to go undercover outside if there is a space at that location or the ACON community space. This space is lesbian friendly and the community room is spacious with indigenous paintings surrounding the room.
“Lesbian Dinner” is on the first Thursday of the month, start 6pm. If you can’t get there at this time that’s ok as there will be some lezzo’s who will filter through at later times. I’d say though we will finish around the 8pm to 8.30 pm time slot.
On “Fair Day” Shannon from ACON says that they will have a shelter and we are welcome to share their space. So if any REAL lezzo’s would like to meet there we are welcome. We will have a REAL flag waving.
REAL meets @ ACON Community Space every second Thursday, 5.30pm – 7pm. you don’t have to be there at 5.30 as these meets are informal and are to meet up with other lesbian’s, have a chat and a cuppa. So any time between this time slot is ok.
There is an African Art exhibition called Walala Wasala – The Fabric of African Politics at the Wollongong City Gallery. This exhibition is open from 15th of February until the 4th of May 2008. If you would like to go as a REAL group on Saturday 23rd February, we will meet out the front of Wollongong City Gallery 12pm. I suggest we eat lunch before we go and afterward if we feel like a cuppa at a café afterward, we can do that also.
