Now that it is finally here, please have a read, participate and distribute far and wide to your networks. Everyone is welcome to participate, as wholehearted support from the wider community in this case would in some ways be even better than getting a huge LGBT response (which of course would be awesome).
The website doesn't go Live until May 15 and will only be active for 3 months, so spend the next few days thinking about what you might like to do if you're interested in participating, or spend some time getting your photos put together/spread the word and then get them up after the launch!
The launch of the project will be this Friday, at a community debate held in Martin Place where participants can do their photos and be some of the first to get involved. For more information feel free to contact me by return email.
The International Day Against Homophobia, held on May 17 every year, is a rallying event offering an opportunity for people to get together and reach out to one another. This Is Oz will be an opportunity to reach out and show support in an easy but inspirational way to people within your communities and across the world.
For those within the Illawarra that find access to cameras and uploading facilities difficult, there will be opportunities to come into the office and do a picture throughout the course of the project. If you have other ideas on how to promote this project within your communities, please feed them back to me so others can also benefit from your creativity!
