REAL: "wear it with pride" Illawarra launch, 6pm Thurs 25 March

On Thursday the 25^th of March 2010 ACON Illawarra will be holding a local launch for the Wear it with Pride Campaign. The launch will be held in ACON Illawarra community space (18 Ellen street wollongong) and will commence at 6pm. Speakers and special guests will be available to answer any questions you may have about the 85 law reforms and how these laws will affect you.

Speakers include the campaign coordinator Corey Irlam, local influencer David Webber, and two solicitors from the Illawarra legal centre.

We encourage our community to attend this education forum so we can be fully informed of changes that affect us all.

REAL: ACON Legal reform community forum: March 25th

Hi all,

on 25th March at 6pm we're holding a community forum to discuss the 'Wear it with Pride' campaign and the legal reforms brought in by the Fed Govt. there have been 85 changes to Fed law over the term of the Rudd govt. that affects the GLBT community. The forum aims to inform our local GLBTI community of those changes as they affect our lives in many ways.

Some of us will know a few of these changes, the ones especially that have been given a lot of publicity, like changes to Centrelink payments etc but many of the reforms we don't really know about and they can affect us now and into our future.

So we are encouraging all of our community to attend. There will be a press release sent out soon (hopefully no later than tomorrow) to inform local media.

Pls pass this message on to yr members and thru yr networks....we wont' be able to hold this forum elsewhere as funds don't allow for that so pls encourage people to attend from down south too if they are able. There is a website on the campaign and for those who can't attend I would encourage u to look up the site. It's connected to ACON's website or just google wear it with pride

REAL: Bush Lemons (Blue Mountains} Events to July

Hi Lemons,

Attached is our next calendar of walks which will run from next month through to July. We still have 2 walks left on our current calendar of course - this weekend's beginner's overnight walk and the easy-medium walk on Sat, 27 March, followed by the Lemon Zest Dance!

The new calendar includes our Anzac weekend combined camp, a GLBTQ one on the June long weekend as part of the festivities at that time, and a variety of easy to very hard walks that should appeal to all. Thanks to Raewyn for putting some walks on as well. Don't forget to print the calendar out and pencil into your calendar those walks that you may be interested in doing. The next few months should be perfect for walking with slightly cooler weather.

This day is for local lesbian women to

· Relax, unwind and meet other women

· Shoulder and hand massages

· Pampering from the Body Shop

· Meet CWHC staff

· Connect with other lesbian friendly services

· There will beguest speakers, including;

· Women's health nurse—will answer questions about lesbian health

· Welfare Rights Centre—will discuss the impact of Centrelink changes on lesbian relationships and rights

· ACON will hold their interactive workshop on lesbian sex and sexuality

We would very much like you to attend this day. There is the opportunity for you to have a stall in the morning between 10am-12pm.
