sorry

Hi All,
you would of received an email during the week as a reminder to fair day on sunday.  you may have noticed that there was a huge list of names on the email.  unfortunately, due to being new in the job and new to gmail we failed to BCC the information.  I hope that everyone deletes these email addresses in order to maintain privacy of others.  please don't use any of the email addresses for your own benefit as I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone used yours.
we hope to remember not to do it again.  Sorry.
Fay and Janine

Real: FW: Bush Lemons bushwalk - Sat, 19 Feb

Hi Lemons,

Our next walk is on Saturday week, 19 February.  It is different from the scheduled one because the track to Lindemans Pass is closed due to a landslide.  Therefore we will be tackling a walk in the Wild Dogs Mountains - Ironpot Mountain to Coxs River and Breakfast Creek.  This is a hard full day walk of about 15km in this gorgeous wilderness area.

We will be carpooling out to Dunphys Campground at the end of the Megalong Valley where the walk begins and ends.  We will ascend up Ironpot Ridge and then descend off the end of Ironpot Mountain down to the Coxs River.  This section of track if fairly indistinct and its a long descent where a trekking pole or stick is handy.  We arrive at the gorgeous river for lunch and a dip, and then walk along iconic Breakfast Creek and then onto Carlon Creek and the long ascent back up to Dunphy's Campground yet again.  This walk has amazing views into the wilderness, lots of gorgeous bush, wildlife and a lovely river and creeks where we can have dips.  There will be a lot of shallow creek crossings on the walk back from Coxs River, and the walk itself will take 7-8 hours.  Previously this walk has had stinging nettles near the end, so long pants or zip off pants are advisable.  This is a favourite walk of mine because of the wilderness aspect, the challenge of the walk, and the particular beauty of this area, so I hope that you'll be able to join us.

Book: With me via email or text by Thursday, 17 February.  Please ensure you leave your contact phone numbers.

Meet:  At 8am at the Blackheath railway station carpark.  To get here, turn left over the railway line at the second set of lights in Blackheath, and turn immediately right into Station Street and the small carpark is a very short distance up here on the right, just past the Mitre 10 Hardware.  We will carpool the 20 mins or so from here to the start of the walk.

Bring:  As this is a long walk please bring plenty of walk (minimum of 3 litres), lunch, snacks, raincoat, sturdy boots/shoes, trekking pole if you wish, long pants or zip off pants for any nettles, hat, camera, warm top etc etc.

Cheers
Jocelyn

Show & Share Cafe - Inner West, Sydney
Hi everyone. We want to let you know about our new monthly event for women from all creative paths. You may have already seen some information on our website.

The first Creative Womyn's Show and Share Cafe will be held on Thursday 24 February 2011 from 6pm – 8pm. Please email gabrielle@creativewomyn.net to register or phone Gabe Journey on 0400 619 868 for more information.

What's it all about?

Reconnect with that childhood "Show & Tell" energy and excitement of sharing with others about something you have created. Whatever form of creativity you enjoy, Creative Womyn's Show and Share Cafe is a place for women to discuss their creative journey.  We share our latest creative work, ideas, goals, challenges and achievements in a friendly cafe in Sydney's Inner West.

All creativity welcome:  Writers, Poets, Spoken Word Performers, Actors, Film Makers, Visual Artists, Photographers, Craftswomen, Sculptors, Mixed-Media Artists, Jewellery Makers, Musicians, Cake Decorators, Weavers, Digital Artists, Knitters, Painters, Cooks, Graphic Artists, etc.

This is a lovely space to listen as well as share, and to inspire your creative self and others. We are aiming each time for a small group of up to 10 women to ensure plenty of share time for everyone.

If there is a lot of interest we will have a waiting list and also look into options for other meeting times. This gathering is for women. It is a drop in style so if you can't make one Cafe you can always register for the next month.

The group meets once a month at Romey's Cafe, 4 Crinan Street Hurlstone Park. There is free on street parking, and Romey's is only minutes walk from Hurlstone Park railway station. View more information here The cost each month is $20 which includes a hot drink and Romey's home-made savouries. We look forward to seeing you there !

Not in Sydney??

If you don't live in Sydney, you might want to start something up yourself closer to home. This idea was sparked from years meeting up with friends in small talking circles based on Julia Camerons The Artist Way "Creative Clusters".  Julia shares some great guidelines for creative groups at http://www.theartistsway.com/tools/creative-clusters

You might already run something similar in your area, if you do let us know and we can include it on our noticeboard if you are looking for more participants or just want to share about it.

REAL Update

Hi Everyone and thanks for the lovely welcome as new facilitators to REAL.  Janine and I are very excited to take over this role.  A big thanks to Tania and Wendy who did such a great job in the past.  Janine and I have some wonderful ideas for things to do, many contributed by you, and as this is your group too we appreciate any suggestions of what you would like to do with the group.  Janine and I have decided to have a structured evening every second month to perhaps draw in some of the people who don't just want to sit around and have a chat.  We are going to have movie nights, thai cooking lessons, tarot night, and we are looking into self defence as well.  We are planning on restarting the dinners and breakfasts as quite a few people requested this.  You will be receiving reminders about Real meetings frequently and when we have organised other events you will receive frequent reminders about those also.  We are currently in the process of upgrading our mobile phone as the one we have is constantly requiring charge, as soon as the new phone is in place you will be able to contact us by mobile.

Breakfast and Dinners

Yes they are coming back.  As facilitators for REAL Janine and I could make all the decisions about where we go, but as this is your group as well and we want as many of you as possible to attend we want you to make suggestions of places you would like to go.  We are looking for places from Kiama in the south to Bulli in the north.  We are also looking for a fairly reasonable price range as we have people on all sorts of budgets.  Do you want to have family dinners as well?  if so please suggest venues that are family friendly.  We also want to know what times suit everybody, do you eat early around 5:30 or do you prefer a 7pm start, do you want breakfast at 9 or 10.  Please take into consideration that we are not going to be able to please everyone, but we will endeavour to accommodate the majority.  Just drop us an email and let us know what you want.  This group is for you.

International Woman's Day

This is on the 8th March and this year REAL is having a meditation session and breakfast to be held at ACON's community space, from 7am.  We realise that this is a tuesday morning, but with Mardi Gras the weekend before we felt that it was better to have something small on the actual day rather than letting this important day just slip past.  If you are interested please drop us an email.

real FW: Bush Lemons 15 year anniversary INVITE!

Hi Lemons,

Our 15 year anniversary is a mere 2 months away and we are celebrating.  We have booked a venue at Kurrajong for the weekend of Friday, 1 April - Sunday, 3 April!  Its a great place because its quite central for those in the upper mountains, lower mountains or Sydney or elsewhere.  Its also a gorgeous area totally away from anything else, with great views, 5 cottages, a huge entertainment shed, bushwalks, a creek for swimming and canoeing.  All the information is attached and children and sociable dogs are most welcome.

Bookings will be made via me on a first-come first-served basis, so once you have had a look at all the attached information, please book in as soon as possible.  Let me know if you have any queries.  I imagine that beds will be at a premium, so the quicker you book in the more likely you will get what you want.

This is a pretty big milestone for the Lemons so I do encourage you all to support the group and join us for what will be a wonderful weekend for all!

Cheers
Jocelyn

Fwd: new facilitators for real/ DRAFT IS EVERYONE OK WITH THIS?

Hello and welcome into another wonderful year for REAL :)

REAL has been lovingly nurtured by myself (Tania) and Wendy for the past few years however our energy has become somewhat lax in regenerating new activities for REAL.

This year has manifested 2 new facilitators to coordinate REAL. Lets welcome Janine and Fay as our wonderful continuing facilitators for REAL.

Along with our dynamic new facilitators comes a new energy that  will bring transformation to REAL. Janine and Fay have already decided to meet up to discuss where REAL will go in terms of where it wasn't previously and where it can and will go.

I'm sure Fay and Janine will be dearly supported in the growth of REAL by you all. Wendy and I are very grateful for their enthusiasm toward maintaining and growing REAL as a Network as I'm sure you all are.

REAL has provided in the past and will continue to do so in the future an avenue for many lesbians to connect and be supported in their sexuality. REAL is an inspiration in our community and has proudly supported the Illawarra with a place for lesbians to connect.

Our 2010 Christmas dinner heralded a great turnout. Some may have had their orders stuffed up and one forgotten and for some may have been too loud with all our voices. The restauraunt manager apologised profusely with grace. All in all through these minor mishaps, most agreed that what made the evening grateful was the support gathered to connect with our community.

Wendy and I dearly grateful for all the challenges of REAL since it has given us something to think about in terms of community and also creating activities and communications more successfully. Wendy and I will pass this important information on to our new facilitators with grace.

So get ready for new awakenings in and amongst the realm of REAL.

Come along and welcome our new facilitators Fay and Janine @ REAL TALK on Thursday the 27th of January 6pm. There will be nibblies and non alcoholic beverages to celebrate. Bring along your ideas for an exciting new energised REAL.

Gratitude and thanks for all the heart felt support over the years.

With celebrations to embrace the year now and ahead

Tania & Wendy :) :) :) :) :)
