I have recently come across a great website called: 85 – wear it with pride. www.wearitwithpride.com.au
This website outlines the 85 different reforms to Australian federal laws affecting same sex attracted ppl in the areas of:
- Parenting; workplace; relationships; social security; financial; health & ageing; and immigration. (they have factsheets on the site)
There are also fab T-shirts for sale on the site promoting same sex rights. – well worth a look!
On Sunday 28 February from 11 am BEGAY brunch at Morrisons on Lamont in Bermagui.(main street next to Newsagent) This is market day as well on the Bermagui foreshore.
I would appreciate if you could give me some idea if you can make it as I will need to book a table/s.
On Wednesday March 10 ACON is coming down to hold consultations with GLBTI an HIV+ people in our area.
If you have any particular issues that you would like to see them about please contact me directly & I will arrange a time for you.
There is a new manager at the Illawarra Branch who has a strong commitment to supporting us down on the south coast & fulfilling the promises ACON has made to us for many years.
During the day, they will be meeting with service providers i.e. The Health Department & in the evening I have suggested to them that we could have a BEGAY dinner – 2 tables – a girls' and a boys' to discuss pertinent issues and discuss with them ways that they could be more proactive in their service delivery down this way.
Radda Jordan the new Illawarra Manager has also written a draft lesbian health strategy that she would like to run by local lesbians as well.
So if this interests you at all please send me a return email.
At this stage the dinner is tentatively planned for the Moruya area but depending on numbers we can move up or down the coast (within reason)
If you know of any other gay/lesbian events please let me know.

Dykes on Bikes Sydney are proud to present our annual show. This year The Oxford Hotel is hosting an afternoon of not too serious motorbike & tattoo competition amongs others. There are heaps of prizes, great entertainment & some surprise performers & judges.
Bike categories include: cruiser, tourer, rat bike, sports, naked, vintage, up to 250cc/scooter, people's choice. Please have bikes in at 1pm
Tattoo Categories: arm, leg back, front, best tattoo story, best modification, people's choice.
Cost: gold coins donation, with proceeds going to our club's elected charities.
There will also be a club history exhibition, stalls & more...
